TPAR deadline & CGT/negative gearing reform consultation

Two dates every business owner using contractors needs on the radar this month: Taxable Payments Annual Reports for 2025–26 are due electronically by Friday 28 August — paper lodgment is no longer accepted, and penalties start at $364 per 28-day block. At the same time, Treasury has opened public consultation on Tranche 2 of the CGT and negative gearing reforms, closing 21 August, with changes slated to take effect 1 July 2027. If you use contractors or hold investment property, now's the time to get your data in order and make sure your voice is heard before the window closes. Reach out if you'd like a hand with either.
