QuickBooks' new AI "Payments Agent" — chasing invoices automatically

August 24, 2026

Would you let an AI chase your unpaid invoices?

Intuit's latest QuickBooks update (out this week) introduces a Payments Agent that uses AI to automatically follow up on outstanding invoices — Intuit claims it can help businesses get paid up to four times faster. It's part of a broader "Intuit Intelligence" push to auto-flag cash flow issues and hand off routine admin. Chasing late payers is one of the biggest time-drains (and stress points) for small business owners, so the intent is sound — but as with any automation, we'd still recommend testing it on a small batch first and keeping an eye on tone and timing before switching it on for every client relationship. What's your take: are you ready to hand debtor follow-ups to AI, or is that still a human job?
